This gala auction is the shelter’s largest fundraiser and offers virtual participation opportunities
LANE COUNTY, OREGON – (October 1, 2024) – Greenhill Humane Society’s largest, most important fundraising event, An Evening for Animals, is on Saturday, October 19 at Graduate Eugene from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. The evening includes silent and live auctions, delicious appetizers and dinner, and a dessert dash. It’s a fantastic opportunity to help the animals and people in the community. Costumes are encouraged.
“An Evening for Animals is a fun evening filled with fabulous auction items, delicious food, a hosted bar, and local celebrities. This is a wonderful evening for animal supporters to see the impact their donations have on Lane County’s vulnerable animals,” said Sarah Bouzad, Greenhill’s Community Engagement & Events Manager. “Our goal is to raise $200,000 to care for over 5,000 animals and the people that utilize our programs.”
The event includes a silent and live auction, passed appetizers, dinner, a hosted bar, and a dessert dash. Auction items include artwork, experiences, gift cards, jewelry, and more. Guests at the event will learn about Greenhill’s programs and hear heartwarming stories of animals that have been helped throughout the year.

Greenhill relies on the funds raised at An Evening for Animals to support the medical, behavioral, and daily care of the animals in the shelter. In 2023, Greenhill assisted 5,356 animals through its life-saving programs. So far in 2024, Greenhill has helped over 4,000 animals. Greenhill programs include adoption services, humane education, a Community Pet Pantry, domestic violence assistance, senior assistance, pet retention assistance, spay/neuter programs, disaster response, volunteer opportunities, and foster care opportunities.
