Ever thought about volunteering or fostering at Greenhill Humane Society and love cats? Join us on Sunday, April 13th from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at Greenhill for a Cattery Open House! This will be a celebration of all the amazing work our current cattery volunteer team and foster families do for the cats and a chance for anyone who wants to learn more, possibly join the cat team, open their home to foster a cat, or just see some really cute cats and learn more.
Kitten Season is coming, and we anticipate hundreds of mama cats and kittens coming through our doors in need of help. We are actively looking for more animal lovers to join our foster family roster to provide a safe, comforting space for these kittens.
The event is open to all! There will be snacks, a chance to tour the cattery, information about our various cattery volunteer positions and foster opportunities, and more!

What does it mean to volunteer at Greenhill?
We have many different volunteer opportunities at the shelter including helping in animal care and administrative spaces. Volunteers 12-15 years in age can join the team with a parent/guardian and ages 16+ are welcome to come out on their own.
What does it mean to be a foster family with Greenhill?
Becoming a foster family enables a comfortable, temporary home for a shelter pet needing a little extra attention or time away from the shelter.
All you need is an open heart and an open home – we will provide you with all the information and materials you need! That’s right, Greenhill provides all of the supplies, including food, medication, and veterinarian consultations. Foster stays can vary from a couple of weeks to several months, depending on the animal’s needs and the foster parent’s availability. Litters vary in size. Plus, foster families have adoption dibs on most occasions if they fall in love with their foster!
